Hello there! I’m Wendy Hernandez, a passionate student at Texas State University pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Innovation and a minor in Fashion Merchandising. I want to share my story of how I discovered my passion for web design and development. It started during my first semester at Texas State University while pursuing my bachelor’s degree in advertising. I was required to take “Fundamentals of Digital Media,” and that was a turning point for me.

I remember working on a project where I had to develop an app and a website. As I worked on these projects, I found myself fascinated and couldn’t stop working on them. The idea of a career in web design and development excited me, and I became very curious about it.

During this time, my professor mentioned a major in digital media innovation. Intrigued, I researched the classes and realized it offered everything I could ask for. Without hesitation, I changed my major. I felt like it was a calling! It’s the best decision I ever made, and I enjoyed my classes.

I felt like this major aligned perfectly with my personal hobbies, particularly my love for content creation. I decided to teach myself editing initially, starting with iMovie and later Final Cut Pro. I began recording videos of my daily life, editing them, and sharing them on YouTube. I loved making videos because I enjoyed working with the camera, finding the best angles, and learning new editing techniques. What truly motivated me was the joy it brought to my parents. Living far apart, I cherished hearing how excited my mom was every time I posted a new video. Their happiness started my passion for creating content.

I enjoy all things creative and love sharing my ideas. Whether it’s through web development skills in WordPress, Javascript, and UX design, or my proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office 365, Canva, iMovie, and Final Cut Pro, I am eager to contribute. I am committed to continuously developing my skills to enhance projects further. Thank you for considering my application, and I look forward to the possibility of working together.
